Tulsana ( http://tulsana.com) also provides training in Android as well as iPhone. You can check their website for details. Here are some information for their classroom training that they conduct in Houston.
Comprehensive Introduction to Android (CIA-1)
During this five day classroom based course you will learn how to:
• Write, debug and run Android Applications on both real devices and emulators
• Develop tight, optimized and efficient code that follows Android guidelines
• Integrate with shipped and third-party apps such as Contacts, Video and Photographs
• Manipulate, store and share data using SQLite and ContentProvider.
• Build location sensitive software using GPS, sensors and Google Maps.
• Package, sign, release your applications to Android Market. And get paid for them.
Course Benefits
Android is a large and complex system with its own design philosophy, application model, extensive documentation and sample code. Working within a stimulating environment of lecture, discussion and coursework you will develop applications that use all of Android's core frameworks. Whilst the course can't make you an Android expert in a week, it aims to save you perhaps six weeks of solo-development with the SDK documentation and Google sample code.
Course Prerequisites
Prior experience of programming for mobile and/or embedded environments with another mobile OS is not required. Attendees should, however, be happy and up to speed with Java and in particular with threading, inner/anonymous classes, generics etc and used to finding their way around Javadocs. Basic XML facility is required (simple namespaces, attributes etc). Knowledge of Eclipse is helpful but not necessary although prior IDE experience is presumed. The course will explain how to work outside an IDE although most coursework will be completed using Eclipse.
Hands-on coursework
Classroom coursework includes:
• Writing, compiling, and installing applications on both emulators and real devices
• View layout
• Platform integration (accessing contacts, phone numbers, media etc)
• SQLite and ContentProvider
• Graphics
• Location and sensor based
• Service and Notification
• Network access
• Multi-threaded applications
• Cross-process communication with aidl
• Signing, packaging, releasing and JUnit testing _________________ http://starredreviews.com |
