Education:
There is a clear evidence to suggest that achievement levels tend to decline as the children move along the educational hierarchy. This shows that schools are not able to cope with the teaching learning load as the pupils’ progress through various grades.
There are no mechanisms for assessing the achievement levels for children studying through non-formal and alternative schools. Since these systems are more of informal and flexible, it is important to establish their credentials through effective monitoring and evaluation.
The teachers are at the centre stage of the educational system. There is no system to identify teacher training needs. The teacher training packages do consult the teachers but once finalized, their content is same for all the teachers.
Educational administrators needs assessment information that will help them remove barriers to learning by telling schools to decide on what works well and what does not. Enable teachers to identify students learning needs early, before the problem becomes too big. The school administrators should also ensure that that the dialogue between the schools and children is better informed; giving parents a better picture of the progress of their children and the effectiveness of the schools.
Feel free to post in your thoughts and feedback as to how can we create creative and effective solutions to improve the current situation. |

| Several factors work against universal education in India. Although Indian law prohibits the employment of children in factories, the law allows them to work in cottage industries, family households, restaurants, or in agriculture. Primary and middle school education is compulsory. |

| The Indian education system has been subjected to criticism at not only the primary levels but also at the higher level like the university level which are supposed to prepare a person to face the real world. The main reason why the Indian education lacks in many areas i believe is that it is based on theoretical aspects rather than focusing on the practical aspect which a student has to face in life. As this problem starts from the root it is difficult to counter it the higher stages. |
